What is the Surface Polished Process？

The surface polishing process of metal pipeline is to polish the surface of pipeline by mechanical or chemical methods to improve its appearance quality and performance. The polishing process can be categorised into mechanical polishing and chemical polishing.

Mechanical polishing consists of a multi-stage grinding and polishing step in which grinding wheels or polishing heads of different particle sizes are used to progressively buff the metal surface until the desired smoothness and lustre are achieved. This process usually employs abrasives and grinding media, and polishing is achieved by rotating or vibrating devices.
Another method is chemical polishing, which is achieved by applying an acidic or alkaline chemical solution to the metal surface to eliminate oxidised layers and uneven surface impurities. This method is commonly used for certain metal materials such as stainless steel, copper and aluminium.
The polishing process improves the quality of the appearance of metal pipes by enhancing their lustre and smoothness. This not only makes them more decorative and aesthetically appealing, but also improves their corrosion resistance, ease of cleaning and availability for specific applications.
