What is coiled tubing, how it is manufactured and applied

What is coiled tubing, how it is manufactured and applied

Coiled tubing is a metal pipe used to pump chemicals for circulation, logging, drilling, and production operations.

Maybe someone also calls Coiled tubing control line, capillary tubing, downhole tubing, chemical injection tubing, etc.

Because the coiled tubing can be used in a variety of applications.Such as Marine, oil and gas, downhole, heat exchanger...

When was coiled tubing first invented?

The initial development of spoolable steel tubular was reported in the early 1940s, but the first concept for using continuous lengths of steel pipe in oil/gas wellbore service can be found in U.S. Patent 1,965,563 "Drilling Rig" granted to Clyde E. Bannister on July 10, 1934.

What is the production technology of coiled tubing

Coiled tubing production technology is coiled tubing wrapped around a drum and can be continuously pumped or lowered from a well without the need for connecting threads. Coiled tubing is made of high-strength, low-alloy materials (such as stainless steel) that are first rolled straight and then welded together.

How does coiled tubing drilling work?

Coiled tubing is injected into an existing production line, unscrewed from the spool, and inserted into the well. Coiled tubing is chosen over conventional straight tubing, which must be screwed together... In addition, sand control and cementing operations can be performed with coiled tubing.

There are three points I'd like to share with you about our MTSCO’s coiled tubing

1.The material we can produce stainless steel, duplex steel, nickel alloy.
2. Our mill is certified by CCS, DNV, BV...
3.The length of the tubing that we produce can reach 10,000meters
